The water cycle
The water cycle describes how water moves between the ocean, atmosphere, and land. The sun heats water in oceans and lakes, causing it to evaporate into vapor that rises and cools into clouds through condensation. Eventually the water falls back to Earth as precipitation, replenishing rivers, groundwater, and oceans before the cycle repeats.
